  • This is a Paralegal I opportunity. The successful candidate will handle matters across multiple workstreams within the Legal Response Team, with an emphasis on third party litigation matters.

    Internal Posting Description:

  • Work independently, flexibly, and collaboratively across multiple work streams with minimal oversight
  • Analyze and respond to third party requests for documents and information and court orders leveraging knowledge of firm systems and records, team guidance, risk, and the law.
  • Acquire and maintain knowledge regarding applicable state and federal laws, including requirements related to thirdparty document requests, conservatorships, guardianships, discovery and eDiscovery best practices.
  • Communicate professionally with branches, business partners, colleagues, outside attorneys and legal professionals, courts, government agencies, and other actors.
  • As needed, perform intake functions, triage incoming and pending matters, assist with special projects, and complete high-level administrative tasks.
  • Perform legal research with guidance from LRT attorneys
  • Participate in, present at, and/or lead team meetings.
  • Appropriately identify and safeguard private, sensitive, and privileged information.
  • High school education required; college degree or paralegal certificate preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of paralegal experience working on litigation matters for an in house legal department.
  • Experience with guardianships and conservatorships are a plus.
  • Knowledge of and experience in discovery and eDiscovery processes.
  • Able to quickly learn firm operations and processes.
  • Able to work independently in a high-volume environment.
  • Comfortable making decisions based on department guidance and legal experience with minimal attorney review.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to draft and interpret legal documents and interact effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Highly organized, detailoriented selfstarter with sound judgment, strong analytical abilities, and capacity to assess risk, prioritize work, and adapt to changing demands.
  • Proficient with or able to quickly learn new technology, including legal case management systems, eDiscovery platforms, Westlaw, Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat.
