As a Dispatcher, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

  • Support order processing activities, including allocation and de allocation of orders and navigation of specification databases.
  • Enter and maintain accurate data in required operational systems, including Corporate Receipt, PMCS, OPRA, COMS, USS, ELC, and other business systems.
  • Operate and maintain labeling systems, including producing labels and special markings for internal and external customers.
  • Dispatch materials to and from off site storage locations.
  • Prepare and submit shipping and production reports, including dry ice shipping documentation.
  • Coordinate with Packaging Engineering, Transportation, and Regulatory teams to resolve specification and shipping related issues.
  • Provide cross functional support and backup coverage within the dispatcher work group and Order Services team as needed.
  • Follow all 3M and department policies, procedures, and work practices.
  • Follow all safety requirements, standard operating procedures, and work instructions.
  • Participate in plant initiatives and continuous improvement teams (Six Sigma, Green, ERT, HLT, 3M Club, etc.).
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

  • Possess a High School Diploma / GED or higher (completed prior to start).
  • One (1) year of experience working in manufacturing, logistics, shipping, order processing, or a related operational role in a private, public, government of military environment.
  • One (1) year of experience using computer-based systems for data entry, order management, inventory tracking, or similar business operations.

- - - Applicants meeting the basic qualification above may be required to take and pass 3M elected testing as a part of the selection process.

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

  • Experience allocating materials to customer orders
  • Familiarity with BOL, LTL, and FTL shipping and dispatch processes
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Effective communication skills
  • Prior experience allocating material to customer orders

Work location: Onsite – Springfield, MO

Pay Transparency

The starting rate of pay for this position is $23.45, with the potential to reach $26.06. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s relevant knowledge, training, skills, work location, and/or experience.
