St. Louis County Sheriff's Office, operating within the Department of Judicial Administration, currently seeks a dependable, self-motivated individual to join their team as Deputy Sheriff, Execution. This role will serve and execute orders from the Courts such as Writs of Execution, Replevin Orders, Order of Delivery, Writ of Attachment, Eviction Notices, and General Execution Orders necessary to recover money or property as part of a judgment settlement.

Essential Function Examples
- Execute all court-ordered eviction orders by removing the defendants and other unauthorized persons from real property and placing the plaintiffs in peaceable possession.
- Recover and seize property or money from County residents and businesses in a designated geographical area and organize the operations of other agencies assisting in the process.
- Complete final reports and summaries on all activities and actions taken in recovering or seizing property.
- Conduct formal Sheriff sales on seized property by posting advertisements, accepting oral bids from the public, collecting cash and completing all necessary paperwork.
- Perform other duties as required or assigned.
- Minimum Qualifications
Equivalent to three years of experience in the execution of civil and criminal process (law enforcement, investigations, corrections, enforcement positions, or Deputy Sheriff positions).
Special Requirements
Possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
Must maintain qualifying standards in both the handgun and TASER within 6 months of hire.
Must possess and maintain a department approved personal handgun in good working condition for work shifts.
May be required to possess and maintain a department approved personal TASER in good working condition for work shifts.- Additional Information
SELECTION AND APPOINTMENT: A selection committee will evaluate the qualifications of each applicant which will include recentness and appropriateness of the applicant's education and experience, answers to the supplemental questions, results of employment references investigated and any other appropriate information available.
The selection committee will admit to the interview only those persons who possess the most job-related qualifications and may establish admittance criteria beyond the minimum qualifications stated above. The interview will comprise 100% of the applicant's earned grade. A candidate must earn a qualifying grade of 70 or more on the interview to be eligible for appointment. After initial interviews with the selected candidates are conducted, an email will be sent to the address on file with instructions on how to complete and submit a Conviction Questionnaire. Candidates have 3 days to complete the required questionnaire.
The five top ranking candidates, based on the final grade, will be certified to the Department Director/Appointing Authority who will make the final decision.
All applicants conditionally offered a merit position will be required to submit to urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment. Screening will be performed by a reputable clinical laboratory. The cost of screening will be covered by the County.
